Dacorum Contracts Limited were contracted by Volkerfitzpatrick to supply and install all Steel Framing Systems (SFS), Drylining, Suspended Ceilings and Plaster finishes for this state-of-the-art training facility. We were brought onto this project for our extensive SFS expertise to complete the design, supply and install of an extremely technical construction of an exact underground train tunnel replica out of SFS which a real train moves through. Extensive design and development took place to ensure all structural loadings, wind loadings and air pressures were considered, and the detail was such that the end users would not realise the tunnel was not a concrete structure.
